GiantTechZebra Shades in Richmond Hill & the GTA
Zebra shades, also called dual shades or day-and-night blinds, are one of the most popular window coverings in Ontario homes. One continuous fabric loop with alternating sheer and solid bands lets you move from soft, filtered daylight to full privacy with a single pull or a tap on your phone.
How it works
The fabric runs in a loop in front of and behind the roller. When the sheer bands line up, light and the view come through. Shift the fabric a few centimetres and the solid bands cover the sheer ones, closing the shade for privacy without raising or lowering it.
Benefits
Light and privacy in one shade
Switch between open view and privacy in seconds, without a second layer.
Clean, modern look
A slim cassette at the top hides the roller and suits condos and contemporary homes.
Easy to live with
Smooth operation, simple to clean, and no tangled slats like traditional blinds.
Cordless or motorized
Choose a child-safe cordless chain or add a quiet motor with remote, app or voice control.
Best suited for
Living rooms, family rooms, home offices and condos, especially windows where you want daylight most of the day and privacy in the evening.

Are zebra shades good for bedrooms?
Standard zebra fabric filters light but does not black out a room. For bedrooms we recommend a room-darkening zebra fabric, or pairing zebra shades with blackout drapery.
What is the difference between zebra shades and roller shades?
A roller shade is one solid piece of fabric that goes up and down. A zebra shade has alternating sheer and solid bands, so you can let light in or close for privacy without raising the shade.
Can zebra shades be motorized?
Yes. Every zebra shade we make can have a rechargeable or hardwired motor and work with a remote, phone app, Alexa or Google Home.
Do you install zebra shades in Mississauga and Oakville?
Yes. We offer free in-home consultations and professional installation across the GTA, including Mississauga, Oakville, Toronto, Vaughan and Markham.
